While there are diverse residents in the TL, many face homelessness and/or lack income. A restaurant or cooking school focused on local healthy foods and job training would be an asset to the TL. Access to these schools would increase opportunities for kitchen space, food storage and preparation.

Some innovative projects ideas are highlighted below. We can explore these for ideas for funding ideas. Any chef entrepreneurs or restaurants seeking a project with positive social impact?

Cafe 458 in Atlanta, Georgia. On weekends, Cafe 458 opens to the public to serve brunch, and it's that operation that it awards. The function of the brunch is to raise money for the regular weekday operation of the cafe and its parent organization, Samaritan House, which also provides housing and employment services for men and women with addiction and mental health problems. Farestart in downtown Seattle.

Plate Cafe and Catering, Sacramento
