Ask Your Local Store Manager Or Owner
We Are All Community Stores

Get consumers to ask their local stores to stock fresh healthy foods, or any product. Ask them to stock foods in a certain price range and delivery vehicle for lower income consumers. Most managers will try to comply if the request is viable, and not a complete waste of time. They want consumers to visit their store. The City can mount a public relations campaign that everybody needs to have access to healthy food. Wealthy consumers will consider to withdraw their custom if the stores do not behave in a community oriented manner. They need to be public-spirited. I think that, if asked to stock specific items, most stores will stock them, if they consider that it is not a total loss-making and time-wasting exercise. anyway, it's worth a try. Draw up a list of healthy foods and in what form the food should be packaged. Try them. It's worth a try.
