A program that would work with other community groups like Goodwill and offer free Microwaves or low-cost microwaves. A client would have to demonstrate a need for microwave or other cooking device such as a hot plate or slow cooker. An evaluation survey would have be filled out. The client would have to attend a couple cooking classes to learn how to safely operate the cooking device. After attending the classes they will be provided with cook books, and a list of other community resources that would help with life skills training.

An in-take procedure would include a home visit to see if there living situation can accommodate the cooking device the client is seeking. An evaluation is made with recommendations. If the living situation does not meet a certain standards then other food options and referrals will be discussed.
