Prepare Fresh Vegetables For Direct Delivery To Microwave
Plastic Food Bag

Chop or slice fresh vegetables into portion sized thin plastic bags with perforations for delivery to a water-filled dish for cooking in a microwave oven. The method would work for other healthy foods like brown rice. The packaging could be done at the farm, distributor or retail level. The packages would also work for oven cooking or other types of consumption. Fresh vegetables, especially green vegetables, are difficult to cook in a space with limited facilities. The City government could require certain product delivery options as part of the license for operating. Equally, higher-earning consumers could bring their influence to bear on stores and supermarkets to provide this and other food options. This way of delivering food might be commercially viable. It might increase sales.

This project is made possible by the City and County of San Francisco, SPUR, the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services and the Department of Technology
