Think Local Separately

Distribution of local, (California-grown), food versus the distribution of the cheapest food that meets client requirements is a separate issue from the Central Market/Tenderloin fresh food challenge. Should we allow markets to operate freely? Or, should we give preference to local farmers? Are we prepared more for items that are grown locally? The poorest people will probably will be less enthusiastic than others. I propose that this question be discussed and determined through a separate improvesf challenge.

This project is made possible by the City and County of San Francisco, SPUR, the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services and the Department of Technology
