The 24/7 Homeless Cafe
Good To See You Again, Mate

It would be good thing to open a 24/7 homeless cafe, a safe, warm place where homeless people can drink free coffee all day and night, if they have nowhere else to go. It gives them a safe place to go. One of the old warehouses could be converted to provide companionship and sustenance, where they have a right to be. I envisage that the space would be open to the public. It would have televisions, free telephone and computer links. People sleep out in the open and in doorways because they have nowhere else to go. When all else fails (including shelter), come here; and you won't be offending anyone. And, you won't be breaking the law.

This project is made possible by the City and County of San Francisco, SPUR, the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services and the Department of Technology
