Try To Avoid The Use Of Volunteers
You Will Need To Think About This One

I noted that RebuildSF had a representative on the panel. RebuildSF, I believe, primarily provide organization and volunteers. To me, good ideas should not involve the use of a lot of volunteers, not regular use and not over a long period of time. For me, volunteers should come in when there is a crisis, or if it's something for which they have a passionate interest. Volunteering undervalues the contribution that is being made. If something needs to be done, they should be paid. It realizes value in the community in the form of money. Economically, we are worse off as a Community by allowing volunteering. And, some organizations exploit volunteers corruptly, to their own benefit. Volunteers aren't even treated professionally or courteously. And, they have no legal recourse in case of injury or damages, as they would if they were in employment. For this project, the best ideas are the ones that don't involve volunteers.

This project is made possible by the City and County of San Francisco, SPUR, the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services and the Department of Technology
