As a native San Franciscan, I practically grew up in our wonderful libraries. Story time, learning to use microfilm for a middle report, checking out exhibits at the Main branch. The library has always been a gateway for me; it's an organization and a community that makes everything seem possible and puts the world at your fingertips. I considered a design with iconic images of books or of San Francisco. But as I thought about what a catalyst for my imagination the library is, I decided to build a word cloud of all the branch names and let imagination take you from there. I choose earth tones for the words to reflect our pretty, park-studded city. Go SFPL! |
