Integrate Sunday Streets with Community Festivals

Sunday Streets has been a very successful program since it first started, but I think we can take it a step further when working with communities.

Communities like Japantown have festivals every year; Japantown has the Nihonmachi Street Fair in August, and integrating Sunday Streets to route through Japantown and through a festival site will allow people to shop at vendors, buy from community organization food booths, and learn more about the area they are visiting. Even better, it encourages people to bike or skate to the street fair and having sanctioned bike/skate valets next to the festival site makes it better.
