Market between 5th and Embarcadero: How to remove automobiles?

I ride on Market daily. The eastbound segment between 11th and 6th is fantastic, but riding further east it turns totally chaotic and bike unfriendly. Same with the westbound side, which is still open to autos. How can Market street be bike friendly all the way to Embarcadero, in BOTH direction?
