Re-Syncing Street Signals

I find it frustrating to find main city thoroughfares with signals that are not synchronized to help traffic run as smoothly as possible and much less stopping at an approaching red light.

For example, Upper Great Highway from Sloat to Lincoln is all synced to the 35MPH speed limit, which means if you drive at the right speed, you don't even have to touch your brake until you reach either end of the "upper" road.

Try that at Sunset Boulevard where the timing is way off, such as the new signal next to St. Ignatius High School where the signal forces all drivers in the 'synced' portion to always stop.
