San Francisco is classified as a Global City, Alpha grade. A sign is needed that is unique to SF, that is appropriate in ports of entry to the city, as well as public buildings and, perhaps, hotels. SF is in the third tier behind Alpha 2+ and Alpha 1+, behind NYC and Chicago, in the same group as washington DC. One ought to consider ways to improve SF's status as a Global City by considering its positives and negatives relative to other cities. |
