I live in a relatively undefined neighborhood (one of those areas sort of in-between named neighborhoods) and there aren't that many shops around, but there is one bar, and this bar has the greatest community built around it. Because the patrons eventually become your extended family, it's a place you can go to always feel connected and safe. This is an ideal third space.
