First, I think all of the Green Connection paths should be Woonerfs. That would dissuade the streets for being used for anything but local access by autos.
I think the idea of developing a 'concept' for each Green Connection that would inform users that they were on right path. Wayfinding signs, certain plant varieties, path width, sunlight vs. shade, street furniture color or style, permeable pavers in different colors or patters, street art. All of these could be used to "brand" a path.
