Living in Little Hollywood for over 10 years, my trips to the Bayview always have pleasant surprises. My first hidden treasure has to be Flora Grubb Gardens off of Jerrold Street. Such a lovely spot for a beautiful day to sit back, take in the stunning plants and flowers all around, and enjoy a cup of tea from Ritual Café (another hidden Easter egg from within).
The Indian Basin Shoreline park provides a pleasant view of the bay, while having recreational activities for kids. This would be a great spot for a picnic or BBQ. But if the construction in the area is bothersome, a few beaches, picnic tables, BBQ pits, and grassy fields are right around Candlestick Park.
Just riding the T line up and down the Bayview gives you a strong sense of its rich history and culture. The hour rail ride from Bayshore Ave to the Ballpark is an enjoyable break away from the mainstream San Francisco atmosphere and into the Bayview’s. A T line ride is a hidden treasure within itself among many others.

This project is made possible by the City and County of San Francisco, SPUR, the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services and the Department of Technology
