Let's be frank Market Street is an embarassment. The smells and sights are from maybe a third world, not the jewel city of the west coast San Francisco. But there it is, really causing the scales to fall from the tourists eyes, as they see the otherwise lovely city for what it is. A paralyzed buracracy that can not do something simple like keep it's heavily traveled streets clean or sanitary.
