Without limiting this to market street, there are many goods and services that could benefit from a circle of local customers. Free/sell/trade stuff, advice barter, instant outing companions, micro performance space, etc. This would also be linked electronically (audio/visual) somewhat like Streetview, only real time and interactive, giving people the chance to exchange ideas in person or online, or borrow a shovel, or give away a box of records, or get cheap psychiatric help.
