FabMo volunteers gather exquisite materials from Bay Area designer showrooms & other sources, sort them and make them available to all interested persons for creative reuse. We serve as a conduit from surplus to purposeful reuse, and celebrate our crafters and their creations with a popular annual Textile Art Boutique each October, all items handcrafted from FabMo materials.
In 2012 we diverted 50+ tons from their otherwise destination, the landfill, putting them into the inspired hands of local creative folk to be repurposed into pillows, purses, tote bags, garments, quilts, art projects, etc. Items created are often gifted, sold in support of worthwhile causes or individual initiative.
We have workshops in creative reuse techniques. November 1 we'll outfit models for Senior Center Fashion Show. We regularly have outreach events (MakerFaire, EarthDay, etc.) educating community on repurposing, hosting activity tables for kids of all ages.
Open to collaboration, sharing ideas.
